Caramelised Onion Dip

Caramelised Onion Dip - EasiYo NZ


  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • ⅛ tsp cayenne pepper
  • ¼ tsp onion powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 cup EasiYo Greek Style Unsweetened yogurt
  • 4 Tbsp mayonnaise
  • Chopped chives to garnish


  1. Heat a large pan on medium heat and gently fry onions in butter and oil for 1-2 minutes. Add spices and salt, reduce heat and cook for a further 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  2. Remove from the heat and allow to cool.
  3. In a bowl combine onion mixture, yogurt and mayonnaise and mix well. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper. Refrigerate for 2 hours.
  4. Sprinkle with chives and serve with EasiYo’s Rosemary and Sea Salt Crackers.
